"You're my Mommy."

When I think of all the words to describe what it's like to be a Mother... none really do it justice.  I keep coming back to this quote...

“You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back.”
-William D. Tammeus

I've been a Mother for three years going on four, and I have learned more about life during that time than all the years before combined.  Who knew such a small being could be my greatest teacher?

My baby

Jack has been on this kick where he says at random times, "You're my Mommy."  It's not said as a question, but more as a statement that he wants affirmed by me.  I look at him and say, "Yep I'm your Mama, and you're my Jack."

This morning Jack & Joel surprised me with breakfast in bed and a homemade card.

Jack actually came into our room this morning and said, "Happy Monster Day!"  Joel had told him that they needed to make a Mother's Day card, but Jack thought he said Monster Day card.  Hence the monster on my card :)

lol... I love them. Joel said to Jack, "We need to make a Mother's Day card." And Jack said, "A monster day card?"
(I love the poems they come up with, lol.)

Later today we're off to visit our Mothers... and bring them a few homemade goodies.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers, Motherly figures, and future Mamas!  How are you spending today?
